About Me
Hi, I’m Samantha Sambucharan — a student journalist and sports photographer passionate about telling stories through both words and visuals.
I’m currently a journalism major at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science. My work focuses on sports media, where I cover collegiate athletics and bring audiences closer to the game through reporting, photography, and digital storytelling.
I cover UCF Athletics as both a beat reporter and sports photographer through my work with Sons of UCF and FL Teams. Across these platforms, I report on multiple sports, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and softball, producing written content, conducting interviews, and delivering real-time coverage on games and team developments. Alongside reporting, I capture and edit high-quality action photography, creating dynamic visuals that enhance storytelling and engage audiences across digital and social media platforms.
Beyond sports coverage, I bring experience in media, branding, and leadership. As the co-founder of GenZTalksChange, I helped build a digital platform aimed at engaging young audiences in current events through social media. I led content creation, developed the brand’s visual identity, and collaborated with a team of creatives to produce meaningful and accessible journalism. I’ve also strengthened my visual storytelling skills as a Disney PhotoPass Photographer, where I captured professional-quality images while creating memorable guest experiences. In addition, I serve as President of Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. – Psi Chapter, where I lead marketing efforts, manage communications, and develop branding strategies to grow engagement within the UCF community.
Through every role, I am driven by a passion for storytelling, creativity, and connection. Whether I’m on the sidelines, behind the camera, or writing a story, my goal is to inform, engage, and bring audiences into the moment.
